How Long Do I Need to be on Keto to Get Desired Results?
Frankly, I don’t know.
And trust me, nobody does.
Firstly, your definition of desired results needs to be put under the scanner. You might want a 6 pack or target a healthy BMI or simply want a quick fix for a party. When you want a summer body, that also depends on how far your summer is. And while you might think this year is definitely the one, it might take you until next year to be where you want to be.
Looking back at old photographs makes us realize that we didn’t just become fat one day. It was a slow and gradual process. So let’s be kind to ourselves, and give some time to lose weight. If it took you 3 years to gain weight, it would not be too much to at least give 3 months for losing it. Am I right or am I right? On an average, most of my clients manage to lose 3-5 kg in a month while being on keto. Although, there are clients who successfully made a dent in their body measurements, without the scale reciprocating the same.
There’s a very important pill I prescribe all my clients – the patience pill. Advised dosage comes in the form of my sweet, sometimes angry (it’s called tough love, look it up sweetie) voice on the other end of the phone. And on days when you find yourself wanting to throw the weighing scale from your rooftop, you’ll be required to take two of these hard-to-digest pills. And it isn’t wrong to re-asses our plans once in a while. Maybe, nah definitely, you will enjoy keto and might even think about putting a ring on it. I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 month turns into 1 year and a lifetime after that. I know it did for me.
